Katie,

You did an excellent job on this blog entry. I like how you touched on what inspired the lyrics for the song and the inspiration behind the album. I would also like to add that the political state of the country played a part in the lyrical theme as well. The fact that the U.S. was sending people so young to fight overseas in Vietnam away from their families and the poverty that people were living in back here in the States. These all played a major role in the lyrical development. Marvin Gaye was the "Prince of Soul" the "Prince of Motown" and regardless what type of music you are into, it's hard to deny that Marvin was the best at what he did. Again good Job Katie, keep up the good work!
